Ridge hike from Klingenstock to Fronalpstock
This hike leads through great swiss scenery always along on the top of the ridge between the two mountains Klingenstock and Fronalpstock above the mountain town of Stoos.

Once at the top of the mountain, the view on lake Lucerne is spectacular. We went on this hike in August, so weather was fine and no snow was on the trails anymore. Anything prior May would be outright dangerous given the narrow trail and steep hills and cliffs.
The tour start in the swiss town of Schwyz where we boarded one of the steepest rack railroads in the world. The ride took about 8 minutes and we gained about 2.000 ft in height in these 8 minutes.
The town of Stoos which is at the end of the railway cannot be reached by car (service vehicle only) and is therefore car free for the most part. The idyllic setting on a plateau is providing a vacation feeling right away. From the railway we hiked about 20 minutes up to the chairlift that would bring us up to the Klingenstock mountain, the starting point of the hike.
At the end of the chairlift, the ridge trail starts right away. The slopes from the ridge go down on either side for several hundred feet. Anybody doing this trail has to have no fear of heights and should be sure-footed on this type of terrain.
I will let pictures tell the remaining story of the trip. Hope you enjoy. Anybody having questions, feel free to contact me via the comment section.
Nice alpine flowers along the way
The Fronalpstock, our target, is all the way to the right in the clouds
Flowers always find a place to grow
Steep slopes all the way down to lake level
After about 30 minutes on the ridge trail, the first view to Lake Lucerne
Lots of steps to conquer
The clouds provided a magnificent touch to the scenery
Not just one lake to see
The cross at the end of the trip
Well, as long as there’s a beer at the end of the trip
