Lago di Como, Italy

Lago di Como is in a very beautiful area near the border between Italy and Switzerland on the west side of Italy. It is a very famous tourist area and as a result not a cheap vacation destination. However, spending a few days there is certainly worth it. The mountains, the lake, nature and the atmosphere in general is very relaxing. We have been there late spring so the lake was on the cold side still, but temperatures were already very mild.

For the few days we were there, we didn’t really plan ahead, so we decided each day on short notice, what we wanted to do that day. A quick internet search will show many options if you go there.

We stayed in an old town near Varenna, one of the most picturesque town at the lake. The place was a good starting point with lots of options from mountain tours, hiking, other towns to using the ferries to go on the other side of the lake.

Although we were there only a couple of days, we really enjoyed it and saw a lot of different places, one nicer than the others. Enjoy the photos.
