Arches and Canyonlands National Park

After our first visit of Arches in 2016, we decided to go back and enjoy a few more of the great sites of the park. The first vist was of course dominated by the typical sites that one visits when coming to the park for the very first time – Delicate Arch, Double Arch, Landscape Arch and many others.

At the second visit we took a different approach and focused on a few of the sites and enjoyed them with less of a rush. We visited Devils Garden with a nice hike and took an all day 4×4 tour to visit Tower Arch and take the Shafer Trail in Canyonlands National Park.

The time of visit was in October 2019 and it was a great experience as temperatures weren’t that high anymore and we had some of the Arches to ourselves. As a special site we visited Corona Arch which is actually outside of the park boundaries and approximately 20 minutes away from Moab, UT. A short hike of about 35 minutes leads to an arch in the middle of nowhere. Not many people get to this point and it is nice to enjoy an impressive arch almost alone.

The photos in the following give a nice overview of the less visited arches outside of the main season of the national park.

If you decide to go there, enjoy.

Fall Color Impressions – Reposted

Since we just recently passed the peak of tree colors in the western hemisphere, I thought I share a few photos takes over the past 2 month and in recent years. I find autumn especialy in the eastern US and Canada the most inspiring time of the year for a photographer. Nature changes from full of life to a concert of colors just as if nature wants to show us it’s best just before the cold and quiet winter season starts.

There’re many facettes to the beauty of fall, and it is not always easy to find the best spots, or pick the right day to go out and capture nature in all it’s colors. While landscape photography can be done in any weather, rain of shine, Fall colors are obviously taken best in sunshine.

As you can see in the photos, I find, that a graveyard is a perfect scenery to take colorful images in the fall, The serenity of the place combined with the leaf colors are creating a very special scenery that I enjoy. The images are mainly take in the areas around Toronto and Cleveland, Ohio.

Enjoy.
